Golfing Season is on!

Played 18 holes yesterday Saturday at Vassar Golf Course for my second day of golfing. As usual my driving was erratic. I did make some good chipping shots and my putting is in its normal state i should say...yeah right. The temperature hovered around the 50's midday and stayed that way until after we finished the game. Oh yes, it's good to see my golf buddies Mike, Richard and Anand after the winter break.

Today, Sunday is a washout. The forecast calls for 3-5 inches of rain and wind gusts of 30-50MPH. Luckily, the snow skirted the lower Hudson Valley, Dutchess County area in particular. That's good news meaning we won't have to deal with snow but not in the Upstate region where they will be socked with blizzard like conditions again. It will be good watering start for the golf courses instead of just April showers.

On a side note, i got to read Lisa's website today about Baguio's electoral candidates for mayor and the councilors. Check out her Baguio blog. Interesting to say that she is getting to be the resident civic-minded businesswoman that she is. Wouldn't mind seeing her run for office someday. Let's just hope that Baguio folks elect a good mayor. Peterrey Bautista is my choice.

Laters for my blogging about the Triple Crown of Horse racing in the USA.

Sorry, my comment is not related to your post... but I have to say, your photo of the old Session Road is wonderful. My father also has one. He was in front of Acebedo Optical in downtown Session Road and behind him was Session Road. Very wide and clean. Your photo reminded me of his photo which, unfortunately, is missing.

Hi Nick,

Hhmmm let me recall Acebedo Optical..was it on the side of Mercury Drug if you're headed up along Session Road(just about in front of Pohumull's & La Suerte Studio then?). Hope you find the photo and share it in your blog. Thanks to former Baguio residents sharing these photos. BTW, great blog you got and about your Baguio experiences. Thanks for dropping by. Say hi to JoLo. Catch you someday in Baguio.

hi joe,

the way i see it, you have to have a great big ego and very deep pockets to run for public office in the philippines. and i possess neither. hahaha.

when i grow up i want to be gene de guia, one of baguio's influential little old ladies -- someone whom people listen to, someone whom people trust because they know she only has baguio's best interests in mind. and by the way, she still plays golf at 90!

:)

lisa hi,

i do know that should you ever run for any office in Baguio you won't try to recoup your election campaign expenditures... refill your pockets as most of them do.

i would not mind either if you were the second coming of mrs. virginia de guia. she still is an exemplary figure for Baguio.

alright, hope i can still catch her up at BCC or CJH for a round of golf soon.
